Description

Persoil Sock is a calcium peroxide sock. It is a semi-permeable polypropylene mesh containing powdered calcium peroxide. Calcium peroxide is a slow-release source of active oxygen when it reacts with water, according to the following reaction:

CaO2 + 2H2O >>>>> Ca(OH)2 + H2O2

2H2O2 >>>>> O2(free)+ 2H2

Calcium peroxide releases 17% of its weight as active oxygen.

It is supplied with a piezometer anchoring bracket so that it can be hung in the borehole at the required depth.

In contact with groundwater, the calcium peroxide inside the sock slowly begins to dissolve into the water passing through the sock. The higher the groundwater flow velocity, the faster the peroxide dissolves and the larger the radius of influence of the oxygenation. The peroxide in the sock will be consumed within a short period of time.

If, on the other hand, the groundwater flow velocity is low, the radius of influence of the oxygenation will be smaller and the time taken to consume the calcium peroxide will increase.

Dimensions: 70 cm long x 4 cm in diameter. Supplied in airtight buckets of 5 units.
