Description

Calcium peroxide is an oxygen-releasing agent (weak oxidant) in solid form. It is supplied as a white-yellowish powder, is odourless, non-volatile and has a pH of approximately 12 measured at 20ºC. It comes as salts with a purity of 60 – 75%.

Its main asset is that, in contact with water, it releases, under ideal conditions, 17% free oxygen, which can accelerate the natural aerobic processes of hydrocarbon degradation. Performance will depend on the physico-chemical conditions of the medium in which it is applied.

Calcium peroxide provides a controlled supply of oxygen to the substrate in which it is applied, through the following reaction:

CaO2 + 2H2O >>>>> Ca(OH)2 + H2O2

2H2O2 >>>>> O2(free)+ 2H2

We supply calcium peroxide both in 25 kg buckets and in socks (our Persoil Sock). Do not hesitate to contact us and we will find the best solution for your oxygenation needs.

More information about our socks can be found in the consumables section or by clicking on Persoil Sock.
