Description

This is a recovery device for floating free-phase hydrocarbons, that is, hydrocarbons less dense than water that accumulate in wells or piezometers. Skimmers are able to follow the fluctuations of the aquifer thanks to a float with a specific gravity that places the hydrocarbon intake screen exactly at the HC – water interface, so that the hydrocarbon flows into the storage reservoir by gravity.

The accumulated hydrocarbon is emptied manually by opening a valve. The careful choice of materials allows it to be used in highly corrosive environments.

Materials:

– PVDF tank.

– Polypropylene float.

– Stainless steel lifting rod.

– Stainless steel lifting eye.

The volume of the hydrocarbon storage reservoir can be increased compared with the standard model.

Installation is very simple thanks to the piezometer press-fit caps supplied with the skimmer. Two sizes of passive skimmer are available: one 40 millimetres in diameter for 2″ piezometers, with a storage capacity of 0.75 litres, and another 75 millimetres in diameter for 3″, 4″ or larger piezometers, with a free hydrocarbon storage capacity of 3 litres.
