The work
In an unpaved landscaped area in A Coruña we installed three soil gas probes by Direct Push for gas sampling and monitoring in the unsaturated zone.
We drilled down to 2.00 metres with a track-mounted Direct Push rig, with no borehole wall collapse, and set the screen at 1.95 metres. The probes have a 2-4 mm silica gravel filter pack between 2.00 and 1.70 m, a bentonite seal between 1.70 and 0.10 m and a flush-mounted access box with a metal cover. Leak-tightness was checked with a multi-gas detector and the work took one day.
