The work
At an industrial site in Ourense with chlorinated solvents we injected reagents through manchette tubes, combining ISCR and anaerobic bioremediation. The reagents were ELS microemulsion and GeoForm.
We worked with 4 2” PVC manchette tubes arranged in a diamond pattern around a control piezometer, 10.3 m long, with a blank section from 0 to 5 m, a valved section from 5 to 10.3 m and a cement-bentonite sheath. Each tube has 10 injection sleeves, every 0.5 m between 5.5 and 10 m, and injection was carried out in ascending sequence, sleeve by sleeve, with an inflatable double packer and at a pressure of 5 to 9 bar. For mixing we used a 1 m³ tank with an electric industrial agitator and a drum transfer pump, and for injection, a pump with a pressure gauge and flow meter. The final volume was about 4,070 litres, over 3 working days.
