The new water tape2 is a cost-effective water level meter that can now be used to measure static and drawdown head levels in surface waters, piezometers, boreholes and standpipes. This low-cost, dual-function unit is ideal for every project and budget.
Made with Kevlar-reinforced white polyethylene tape, the water tape2 is available in both metric and engineering scale. Unlike other white-tape models, the water tape2 comes with a pressure probe and a carrying bag.
- Electronic module (IP65) – mode switch for static and drawdown levels, removable for easy cleaning and maintenance. Circuits and components are potted to protect them from moisture and dust ingress.
- Sensitivity switch: to adjust for false alarms caused by the cascade effect
- Connector: to prevent damage to the tape, the probe is sacrificed at the joint if it becomes stuck in the piezometer
- Probe (IP68) – 5/8″, full pressure / depth rated *, with no holes or gaps for contaminants to build up, field-replaceable with the optional casing or depth probes
- Tape – polyethylene, Kevlar-reinforced – markings in metric (mm) or engineering (1/100′) scale
- Carrying case: to protect your precision water level meter from the elements
- Handle: built-in, for resting the meter on the piezometer head, allowing hands-free positioning
- Guide: built-in, to protect the tape from sharp edges on the piezometer casing

Optional 3/8” probe - PN# 1504
The optional 3/8″ (9.525 mm) probe is used to measure water levels in narrow tubes and piezometers. The 3/8″ (9.525 mm) probe must be ordered at the time of manufacture. The probe is pressure rated to 100m/ 300 ft for 20 minutes.

The electric reel is a great winding tool for longer tape lengths, from 600 m/2000′ up to 1100m/3500′. The power supply is 12 V DC, which can be taken from the standard 12 V DC system in most vehicles. The electric reel makes the job of lowering and raising longer tape lengths into and out of the well easier. A hand crank is included in case of power failure.
