SOILUTIONS offers its clients hand auger drilling for soil sampling, using the tool known as a Hand Auger. The Hand Auger is an auger, a drilling tool operated by hand. This allows us to reach shallow depths of up to 3–4 metres. Soilutions has a drilling stand for cutting through concrete from 122 to 352 millimetres.
Our technicians will lay out the extracted soil in a core box, at the corresponding depth for characterisation, so that Head-Space measurements can be taken at any interval of the extracted lithological column. It is a technique used by engineering consultancies in site investigation phases where:
1. The soil sample is required from a relatively shallow depth (3–4 metres),
2. No piezometer needs to be installed for groundwater sampling,
3. Due to lack of space, it is impossible to work with a drilling rig.
